Thank you for all the parts and knowledge you were able to supply me with throughout the restoration project of my 1941WLA. When my dad bought it in the late 80’s it was a radical chopper. I worked on it little by little and was finally able to bring it back to a somewhat original look. I always like the 37’39 style, so that’s what I modeled it after. I hope you enjoy the pictures. People keep asking me why I never did cast dual carb Knuckleheads instead of modifying original heads that our customers sends in, and so far I haven’t had a go...od answer... Now I may no longer have finger tips but I sure have the VHOD DUAL CARB Knucklehead MASTER PATTERNS all finished, and the rocker boxes too! These rocker boxes are taller than stock so the rockers won’t bind up inside when running radical camshafts. No geeky computers involved in this process, just a few simple hand tools, plywood, a bottle of wood glue, a rattle can ...and Leslie West. Yes I’m sure clicking a mouse and keyboard works great, it just ain’t my style. And besides, Bob Dylan didn’t use autotune... During the past years I’ve been doing bathtub conversions on knuckleheads for customers, building up the combustion chambers with welding rod and then machining. Now, the VHOD heads comes with BATHTUB COMBUSTION chambers, highly modified intake and exhaust flow geometry, and will be made in high strenght ductile iron. Heads will be available with flanges to fit your favourite carburetors or fuel injectors: 3 and 4 bolt Linkerts, Amals, Rileys, SU’s, S&S, Hilborn etc. And here’s the thing: Knuckleheads, just like Vard forks are NOT supposed to be for the rich and privileged only, so these heads will be offered to an unbeatable price, just like our Vard forks. And last but not least I want to say BIG thanks to my old skate buddy Pelle Fredell at Fredell's Snickeri for letting me borrow his fantastic wood shop!
