Many thanks to those patiently waiting for the photos from this weekend’s Hudson Valley Horse Show at Old Field Farm! I have been working day and night to get these images ready for you guys and hope to have them posted by the end of the week. Here’s a peek at a before & after editing. The top photo is completely untouched aside from the watermark, the bottom is the final copy. This particular jump yielded backlit images which are their own challenge to edit, since there’s so much shadow. However, I love the vibrant horse against a comparatively bright background, and way that the sun lights up manes and tails. Definitely worth the extra work!

A classic Geneseo sunset illuminated this dust cloud that a truck had stirred up as it floated over the fields on Nations Road.

A long-exposure peek inside the "Stone Church" in Dover Plains, NY. The most interesting part of this image is the colors of the rock. When standing inside the cave, the walls appeared rather monotone and consistent with the slate-grey boulders scattered in the stream on the cave floor. Leave the shutter open for 2 seconds, however, and the green moss covering the walls and the red hues of the upper-level stone become evident and add a splash of color to the scene.
