In this role you would be responsible for providing technical engineering support and training in the QA disciplines to establish and improve systems and procedures that confirm understanding and delivery of customer requirements. QAE focus is on day to day operations ensuring support to production and engineering. Responsibilities: Modifying methods of measurement and inspection work instruct...ions for existing products in the most accurate, cost effective, and least labor intensive manner while still ensuring product quality. Providing statistical information for quality improvement and cost savings through data acquisition, analysis, and technical evaluations; Investigating quality related problems with products and processes, working inter-departmentally, to determine cause, recommend corrective action, and implement necessary modifications to QA system to establish and improve control; and Performing internal quality audits as assigned and write up findings as a result of the audits, recommending corrective action necessary. Planning and performing capability studies, analyze data, and make recommendations to achieve acceptable CPK’s and minimize inspection required for product quality verification; Acting as QA representative for sampling projects which requires initial measuring to evaluate if sample should continue as is or if changes must be made to tool/process, acquire necessary parts for full analysis as required, create a report summarizing data, analyze results, and sign off or make recommendations for improvement; Proposing preventive actions as a result of a Last Shot meeting with engineering, manufacturing, and quality representatives, and verify effectiveness of the actions taken; Providing necessary data and dimensional measurements to verify tool and process modifications yielded desired results. Skills & Abilities Contribute to the overall success of the company by performing all assigned duties in a professional, timely, and accurate manner. Accuracy is an absolute necessity as many decisions regarding tool/process work is directly based on data provided or reviewed by QAE. Decisions regarding product acceptability must be factually based and take into account associated levels of confidence and risk factors. QAE is to function as a representative of the customer and take action accordingly. Devise and implement various complex methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, reliability, and accuracy of products and processes Four-year degree in engineering science or math is required. Two years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer is preferred. ASQ certification is preferred. Equivalent previous work experience as an Internal Auditor will be considered.
