HOW’S NEW YORK REAL ESTATE DOING?! Here’s this week’s weekly market update: We didn’t see a big spike in signed contract activity last week that we were hoping to see after Labor Day, but Rosh Hashanah and delayed/extended summer vacation plans due to Covid may have been the cause. There was a big spike in new listings coming to market last week, over 700 in Manhattan and over 400 in Brooklyn, which is to be expected the week after Labor Day, but these numbers are simply astr...onomical that’s 12% of Manhattan’s total listing inventory coming to market in just one week. Many sellers who held off from listing last year are finally coming around due to the strengthening New York market. Buyers are back in full-force this week and we are inundated with viewing requests we are expecting this to continue in the coming weeks and months, with strong signed contract numbers to show for it. HOW’S NEW YORK REAL ESTATE DOING?! Here’s this week’s weekly market update: Another solid performance by the Manhattan and Brooklyn markets last week: over 300 contracts were signed in Manhattan and nearly 200 in Brooklyn, which is very impressive for a week in August, when things traditionally cool off market-wise in New York. The luxury markets are extending their hot streak all the way through the summer of 2021. Thirty-six contracts were signed last week at $4 million and... above, an impressive 15 more than the previous week. Condos outsold co-ops, 27 to 7, and 2 townhouses were in the mix. Over half of the properties were sold by developers. We have seen possibly the largest volume of $10-million-plus property sales and signed contracts in history in 2021 so far.
