Hey Campers, just a friendly reminder. There are so many new campers out there making this mistake. Others are just site shopping and that will bun you here. It will burn you at a lot of campgrounds next year. Lots of campground owners are talking about this.... Many of us have had infrastructure crushed, gates torn out, pedistals hit, pool fences ripped out, as in our case last week. The number on the door of your camper is NOT what you book your site with. i.e. a camper tha...t says (example) 39RBDS on the door. Is NOT 39 feet long and you should NOT book your sites that way. If you have a fifth wheel that says 39 something on the door, you are typically 43.5 feet long. If your a travel trailer and it says 39 something on your door, you are most likely 43 feet long. If you have a motor home and it says 39 something on your door, you are most likely 42 feet long. Or longer. If your a toy hauler and you have a rear deck, and it says 39 something on your door, you are most likely over 50 feet long. If you have a hybrid, the campground needs to know what your "opened" length is. Although most hybrids will fit just about anywhere like a pop up. You should still know these numbers. KNOW these numbers. Honest disclosure, in 2022 if you show up 4 feet longer than your reservation says, you just forfeited your reservation and will be going home. We will not be able to refill on a 5 minute notice, so there would not be a refund. Plan accordingly and know that MANY parks will have this policy next year.
