We are proud to announce that our Firefighter of the Year for 2020 is Meghan Dombkowski, a member of Packard Company. Please join us in congratulating her! We will be announcing our other award winners throughout the week.

The Bridgehampton Fire Department joins with our community in rallying around Mary Anne Jules, the longtime AD at the Bridgehampton School, for the #MsJulesChallenge. Led by Firefighter Nick Dombkowski, a former Killer Bee, here’s 20 push-ups for you, Ms. Jules! For more info on the challenge click the link in our bio. We are lucky enough to have had many father-son duos serve in the Bridgehampton Fire Department, including current Chief Mark Balserus and his dad, Rick Balserus. To all the dads in our department, all the fathers of our volunteers, and the dads in our community, Happy Father’s Day. : Michael Heller

Our department treasurer, Jack Zito, turned 80 on Friday and we couldn’t let the day go by without celebrating him. Fire and EMS personnel pulled off a surprise birthday drive-by (with help from Jack’s wife, Eileen) and some of his friends outside the department joined our procession as well. Jack has been a member of the EMS company since 1997, where he has served as an EMT and driver, helping countless patients over the years. Suffolk County is honoring all senior athletes tonight, Friday, May 1, at 20:20 (8:20pm). The Bridgehampton Fire Department is leading a parade for the Killer Bees student-athletes. Students will be following the fire trucks in their own vehicles and Bridgehampton families and residents are encouraged to stand outside to cheer on the seniors from along the parade route! there ... 4 BHS!
