Dear Broadway Theatre Connection Families, We know you have questions about BTC NOLA 2020 and our tenth anniversary season, and so do we. During these uncertain times surrounding the Covid-19 outbreak, it is difficult to make plans for the next few weeks, let alone the next few months. While our staff and faculty are ready to return to New Orleans (and we know the same is true for our young artists) we will not hold BTC NOLA 2020 when it can not be operated safely and wit...h the quality you’ve come to expect. Our Broadway faculty members fly from NYC and stay in hotels, teaching in rooms with 80+ students. Everywhere we turn, there are obstacles caused by our new normal during this pandemic. Realizing that parents will need to make summer plans for their children, we wanted to communicate that information to you as soon as we could. NOCCA put a halt on summer rentals, and while we researched other great facilities, we ultimately decided there were too many factors that just do not add up to our program giving the unique, professional experience we pride ourselves on. Musical theatre in masks? Taking 80 students’ temperature daily so we can keep them safe and healthy? Theatre is a community. We share space, sing together, dance together, laugh and hug and create. We will do that again together when it is safe. We have updated our refund/cancellation policy, and students who are signed up can request a refund or can have their registration transfer to next year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions to [email protected]. Our hearts are broken to not be in the studios with you this summer, but if artists are anything, we are resilient.
