#TuesdayTip: Planning your telehealth workflow. Virtual consultations are very similar to how you conduct in-person appointments. Since you're meeting virtually, it's important to remember these simple steps when consulting with your patients. 1. Confirm the patient's identity.... 2. Make sure that the patient's equipment is working. 3.Ensure that the professional standards of in-person care is maintained during a virtual visit.

As the consumerization of healthcare puts greater focus on the patient experience, patients will continue to demand frequent and convenient interactions with their healthcare provider. It’s helpful to think of telehealth as an integrated component of the care continuum, offering patients a chance to receive care wherever and whenever they need it.

You should get a flu vaccine before flu viruses begin spreading in your community, since it takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against flu. Make plans to get vaccinated early in fall, before flu season begins. CDC recommends that people get a flu vaccine by the end of October. Getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever during 2020-2021 to protect yourself and the people around you from flu, and to help reduce the strain on healthcare systems responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ground-breaking study compared telehealth rehab therapy with in-clinic visits. The researchers found that: Telehealth and non-telehealth care episodes were equally effective for improving patients' functional status.... Episodes of care involving telehealth had an average of two to three fewer visits, suggesting telehealth may promote greater efficiency of care for the same amount of functional improvement. Patients were equally satisfied with their therapy care regardless of whether any care visits were administered using telehealth. Join Healthcare revolution with Carie, link in bio!

Despite the benefits of #telehealth, there are still barriers preventing it from being more widely adopted. One of the challenges is the perception that telehealth is less effective than in-person care. In fact, not only has remote monitoring helped providers stay up-to-date on patient well-being but video visits also allow providers to learn more about their patients, capturing a more holistic view. A 2019 study shows satisfaction with telehealth has increased, with 62% saying the quality of care was the same as in-person visits.

Whether it’s vitamins, minerals, or fiber, it’s best to get them from foods instead of pills. But that can be a challenge for some older Americans, especially if you don’t eat a balanced diet. You’re most likely to lack vitamin D, potassium, calcium, or dietary fiber. If you think you need more than you can get from food, talk to your doctor about supplements that will be safe with your meds, diet, and health. Calcium. With age, you can start to lose more of this mineral th...an you absorb. That can make your bones break more easily. Vitamin D. Your body needs it to absorb calcium. So take them in tandem to help prevent osteoporosis. Potassium.Potassium plays a part in almost everything inside your body, including your heart, kidneys, muscles, and nerves. Physicians on the Carie telehealth platform may store medical notes for each patient after every virtual consultation. This way, every physician that you consult with will be up to date on your medical history. Concerns with patient data privacy in the health care industry are growing, and we understand. Patient privacy is our #1 concern.

Millions of people don’t have convenient access to healthcare. Rural Americans, for example, may need to travel 200 miles to see their doctors. Telehealth makes it easier for independent practices to reach these and other populations that face obstacles when they need medical services. Telehealth can also help independent healthcare practitioners connect with: -Elderly patients.... -Patients living with disabilities or mobility issues. -Patients who cannot afford to take time off work. -Parents who struggle to find affordable childcare.
