Carmel is proud to announce the launch of Young Global Citizen’s Club in the academic year 2012-13 in collaboration with the British Council. It is yet another endeavourwhere different individuals unite with a common purpose of being responsible Global citizens and take this vision forward through various activities addressing global issues.

2012-13, an Academic year well begun The school reopened on June 4th 2012, with the students looking forward enthusiastically to the beginning of the academic year 2012-13. The administrator Mr. Roshan Menezes addressed the gathering briefing the students about the new facilities and changes for the new academic year. He also urged the students to stay focused, especially the outgoing students of class 10 and to strike a balance between their academics and co-curricular activities.

Carmel High School, Basaveshwaranagar witnessed the Investiture Ceremony on Friday, June 8 2012. The Discipline-in-Charge teacher, Mrs. Ramasundari conducted the investiture wherein she emphasized that leaders are those who know the way, go the way & show the way, with the capacity to translate vision to reality. The Head Girl of the school for the academic year 2012-2013 is Shibani Hegde of Class 10 and the Head Boy of the school for the academic year 2012-2013 is Khushal J...hajaria of Class 10. The other leaders were also inducted into office .The Principal of the Carmel P.U College Mrs. Sandhya Menezes addressed the students on this occasion. She spoke on the importance of discipline, cooperation and team spirit. She redefined school as a place for being together with a common goal of societal refinement apart from textbook learning. She reiterated that self-discipline ought to be the way of life for every student, however leaders are required to monitor that self discipline. Hence all the students should vie hands together to keep the flag of Carmel soaring high. The year’s celebration began with the Environment day celebrations on June 5th, 2012. The event began with a talk by the school prefect urging the students to develop a sense of environmental responsibility essential in day to day life. The students of class 10 presented a skit on environment degradation by sending across a strong message to stimulate each one to be an active participant in sustainable development in their own small ways and to contribute towards conservation of the environment. The choir group rendered a melodious song glorifying nature. The school will hold a weeklong celebration comprising of story writing, poster making and movie making contests

Carmel Centre Students will participate in State Taekwondo Championship to be conducted during the last week of April 2012 at Chitradurga

The school will reopen on 4th June 2012.

the KSCA(Karnataka State Cricket Association) organized the Award Niteat the Chinnaswamy stadium on Sunday 1st April, 2012. Goutham. S of XB was given the Best Batsmanaward in the U-16 category. He received the award from international player Chris Gayle. The event was also graced by many cricketing celebrities like Anil Kumble, Venkatesh Prasad, MuttiahMuralidaran and others.

Nimisha C of IVB participated in Golaka Shades conducted by ISKCON and has won a gold medal and a certificate.

Deepthi Lokesh of IVB participated in Golaka Shades conducted by ISKCON and has won a gold medal and a certificate. Deepthi Lokesh is the school topper in the same.

Nayana A Kiran of KG 2D participated in The 8th Karnataka State Level Abacus & Tiny Tots competition held by TASK the Aloha school of Karnataka and adjudged as runners up.

Adarsh Chhajer of II D was placed 1st in individual Kumite Event held by Ashoka Marital Arts Academy.
