Great post on CIR member Dr. Natache Pierre's experience volunteering in Haiti with Project Medishare for Haiti, Inc. thanks to a grant from PEI!

CIR member and Maimonides Medical Center resident Dr. Natacha Peirre spoke yesterday at a press conference along with the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, 32BJ SEIU, New York State Nurses Association, and others to advocate for the extension of Haitians' Temporary Protected Status, set to expire on July 22. Dr. Pierre, a Haitian-American physician, recently returned from a medical volunteer trip to Haiti funded through a CIR Policy & Education Initiative scholarship.
