October is move over month, to remind everyone to please move over/slow down for emergency responders and other roadside workers. Emergency responders are facing risks every day when they are stopped on the side of the road, especially when they are outside of their vehicle helping you with yours. If you are unable to move over, please at least slow down. Whether it's a simple tire change, or assisting in a hectic crash scene, they are amongst heavy moving traffic. Mondays are for learning fun facts about tow trucks! 1. There is a museum actually dedicated to tow trucks, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 2. There used to be only one type of tow truck available for use named the 'traditional' tow truck, but now we've evolved and have 5 tow trucks! -the boom... -hook and chain -the wheel-lift -the flat bed -integrated tow truck 3. The first ever tow truck was a converted Cadillac- cool right?! 4. The largest tow truck is found in Canada, purchased for one million dollars it has an 80 ton boom and 60-k winch on the rear. 5. The tow truck was invented in 1916 by Sr. Ernest Holmes because he was using all these ropes and blocks and quite a few men to pull a car out of a creek and that inspired him to create a design of a tow truck.
