A warm hello to all of our friends, customers, and neighbors! We want to let you know that you will be seeing a "for sale" sign in front of the restaurant. Please don't be alarmed; the restaurant has actually been for sale for a little bit now, we just haven't been promoting it too visibly. Ever since our partner/husband/father/friend, Rick Newton, passed away on January 6, 2019, things just haven't been quite the same at ECFC. Dave and Rick collaborated on this project with ...laughter and enthusiasm and, in Rick's absence, it has lost a great deal of both. We increasingly feel it is time to pass it along to the next hopeful restaurateur. Despite this, the restaurant has remained a fun and convivial place where we have made loads of great friends and had countless wonderful nights. This fabulous community has embraced us so completely, and we have stayed open in order to return the favor. We really love all of you, and so enjoy being part of such a terrific place. Because of Covid, and because we can not operate the restaurant in the manner that we would choose, we really have had another kind of loss. We want to go back to business as usual, or we don't really want to do it at all. While we have cut back our hours, we will remain open and offering our full menu for as long as we are here. We will continue to serve alcohol as long as possible, but our liquor license is due for renewal at the end of October, and that is a hefty expense that we may not choose to incur in this current state of uncertainty. We are in conversations with the State Liquor Authority about whether they are willing to make accommodations for small restaurants in light of Covid hardships. All of this is just to keep you up to speed on where we are at and what we are doing. We don't want the sign outside to dissuade you from enjoying our consistently good food and friendly service. We will continue to offer curbside pick up, delivery within 8 miles, and the use of our lovely backyard picnic tables for as long as we are here. Thank you for your support and your friendship. We look forward to seeing you soon!
