Sunday, March 14, 2021 To reduce the spread of COVID-19 all visitors over the age of two years must wear masks in the following locations: Inside any park building. Outside when park staff or others are present and cannot stay at least six feet apart:... - Outdoor visitor contact stations - Parking lots - Park Trails - Whenever participating in park programs Masks must cover the nose and mouth and fit snugly around the nose and chin with no large gaps around the sides of the face. Masks not designed to be protective, masks with ventilation valves, and face shields do not meet the requirement. Park grounds including the parking lot and trails are available from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. All buildings at Val-Kill remain closed. For current information on park operations please go to our website: www.nps.gov/ELRO or continue to follow us on Facebook. #findyourpark #besafe #NPSHydePark
April 9th is Winston Churchill Day. It celebrates the day he became an honorary citizen of the United States. (His mother, Jennie Jerome was born in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, NY in 1854). Here, Churchill visits the grave of FDR with Eleanor Roosevelt, as he was unable to attend the funeral. #WinstonChurchill #EleanorRoosevelt #FDR #WinstonChurchillDay #NPSHydePark Franklin D. My Day, APRIL 19, 1949 NEW YORK, MondayWe celebrated Easter again yesterday in the little church at Hyde Park. The flowers made the altar beautiful and the day outside was all that one could wish for, even though the wind was chilly. The sky was blue, and the daffodils and some of the other early garden flowers stood up bravely in the sun. #ValKill #Daffodils #EleanorRoosevelt #FindYourPark #EncuentraTuParque #GardenMonth #StJamesChapel #HydeParkNY #NPSHydePark
