The Spring season is here, and we can all look forward to the warmer weather. However, the seasonal transition can also trigger frustrating spring allergieswhi...ch can interfere with work, school and extracurricular activities. Allied Physicians Group, Strauss Allergy & Asthma and our friends at ENT and Allergy Associates, LLP want our patients and families to be informed about common allergy and immunology issues and treatments because informed parents/patients make better decisions about the health and well-being of their families. It is recommended that parents should always consult with their pediatrician, so that the best treatment plan can be arranged. Today is WORLD SLEEPDAY! The slogan for the 14th annual World Sleep Day is ‘Regular Sleep, Healthy Future.’ World Sleep Day is a call to all sleep professionals to advocate and educate the world about the importance of sleep for achieving an optimal quality of life and improve global health. Studies have demonstrated that stable bedtimes and rise times are associated with better sleep quality in young, middle-aged adults, and seniors. Regular sleepers have better mood, performance, and academic achievement. A good night’s sleep is critical to your mental and physical health. Our sleep specialists and sleep center team will work with you to comprehensively diagnosis and treat your sleep disorder so you can get the quality sleep that you need.
Sinuses are air-filled spaces in the face and head that are lined by mucous membranes. They produce mucus (or phlegm) to cleanse the nose and upper respiratory tract. There are multiple sinuses located on each side of our face (maxillary, ethmoid, frontal, sphenoid) which have small openings that drain mucus and circulate air from the nose. What is Sinusitis? When mucous becomes trapped inside the sinus, it gets infected with the bacteria that normally live in the unsterile n...ose (and discolors to green from its normal clear, white or yellow hue). This infection causes pressure and pain as the mucous fills the sinus. In turn the nose swells, so breathing is difficult and interferes with our sleep. The mucous (or phlegm) also drips into the throat causing sore throat, throat clearing, cough, hacking, "lump in throat" sensation and even fatigue with fevers. One can even lose our sense of smell and taste. At ENT & Allergy Associates, we see that problems of the nose and sinuses can dramatically affect a patient's quality of life. Staffed by fellowship-trained ear, nose and throat doctors and other specialists in allergy and immunology, the Advanced Sinus and Skull base Center provides a comprehensive approach to managing nasal and sinus disorders. Our physicians are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to patients with complex sinonasal disorders. The physician(S) emphasize comprehensive strategies that combine both medical treatments and sinus and nasal surgery.
CEO, Robert Glazer, received his first dosage of the COVID-19 Vaccine this morning at @burke_rehab - Burke Hospital. Bob took this first step to help improve the health and safety of our staff, communities, and patients and to instill confidence in the vaccine among our staff here at ENTA. Receiving the COVID-19 vaccine is part ofwidespread effort by community leaders and health care experts to combat vaccine hesitancy. It is important to understand that this virus is not ...going away, therefore, it's important that if people so choose, they should get vaccinated when it is readily available. Consider the benefits and good fortune that comes with receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine, for your families, friends, peers, communities, colleagues, and yourself. This marks the first step back to normalcy and good health, and to a brighter future where the COVID-19 pandemic is something of the past. #ENTAPROUD #ENTADOC #igotmycovid19vaccine
