Did you know that the eye is the only place in the body where nerves and blood vessels can be directly visualized? Ophthalmologists examine your eyes for signs of such health problems as diabetes, high cholesterol and hypertension. Many times your ophthalmologist is the first to detect these serious issues. Dr. Rabin and his staff look forward to seeing our patients again in the office. Until then, he is available for eye emergencies. If you need to speak to Dr. Rabin, please call the office at 315-634-1190. Please follow the voicemail instructions carefully and he will call you back as soon as possible. We miss all of our patients and customers!

Have you ever wondered why it's important to get your eyes dilated? A recent article in AARP magazine explained it this way: "With dilation, drops added to the eye widen the pupil, allowing your doctor to view the inside of the eye--including the retina, lens and optic nerve--and look for age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma and melanomas." We hope that all of our patients and customers are doing well. We miss you! Remember that Dr. Rabin is available for eye emergencies. We want you to avoid going to urgent care centers and emergency rooms, so call the office at 315-643-1190 if you need to speak to Dr. Rabin. Please follow the voicemail instructions carefully and he will call you back as soon as possible. Stay safe and be well!

We want to remind our patients who are taking prescribed eye drops that it is important to continue these medications. If you are running out of refills and need a new prescription, you can request one with your pharmacy. Your pharmacy will send an electronic request to our office. Alternatively, you may call our office at 315-634-1190 and leave a complete message on our voicemail. We will fill your prescription electronically with your pharmacy. It may take a few days to complete your request. Please check with your pharmacy first to make sure that you are out of refills and need a new prescription. We know that these are very challenging times, but we don't want you to neglect your eye care! Remember that we are here for you for routine matters such as prescriptions as well as eye emergencies.

If you have an upcoming appointment, a member of our staff will call you to reschedule. If you are waiting for a pair of glasses from the Optical Shop, please note that area optical labs are also closed so orders are delayed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by our closure.
