From Feb. - June, I ran a workshop with senior citizens for 60 hours painting portraits and uncovering the heart-stained guts of the world at JASA Senior Center in Starrett City, BK, NY. We painted and I recorded their stories. Now, over 130 paintings are on display as a result of mining the lives... and faces and experience of Brooklyn Seniors. Bullsh*tting in Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and English from February through June. Old folks painting with brushes and fingers to Blossom Dearie, Busta Rhymes, and Radiohead, and often to live musical accompaniment from the likes of Joanna Sternberg, Nick Lyons, Roy Williams, and Masha D Brosgol. We will NOT cure cancer. We WILL have free food and music. The show will be up for at least a month.
