A Tale of Two Falanghinas... . Both biodynamic, both delicious! But in VERY different ways, at different price points... two very diverse expressions of an ancient grape variety (most often consumed with fresh, seasonal seafood ) throughout Southern Italy... .... One is rounder, full of floral notes and stone fruit flavors ( a la apricot..) + hints of honey... honeysuckle on the floral front . The other’s leaner, lighter, more crisp with subtle floral and slightly herbal expressions quite characteristic of this grape... . It was news to us (did you know?) that the month of August was established as Nat’l Black Business Month in 2004 by Historian John William Templeton & engineer Frederick E. Jordan Sr to recognize & support Black-owned businesses nationwide. Special shout out to these pioneers for making it happen & raising awareness to something we can aim to honor each & every ...day! Even so - by NEXT Aug 2021 hopefully we can host something live for you to help us celebrate too! (A la some retro highlights u see here) . "Entrepreneur" by Pharrell Williams w/ Jay-Z came out on August 21, 2020 to herald how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country... Especially as someone of color, there's a lot of systemic disadvantages, purposeful blockages [yet success can & does happen] ~PW . A salute to Summer’s signature drink! On this last day of August, aka Rose Month: Cheers to this lovely ancient liquid of many, many hues! . GOOD thing our seasonal Rose Wall (i.e., floor to ceiling upfront shelf) is still flush with amazing options (e.g. dry... fruit forward.. light...dark...floral..lean... clean... natural... effervescent.. still... sparkling!) + a diverse range of price pints from dozens of wine regions the world over. And it’s right... in the front part of the store which you can see clearly from the designated customer area inside... . Even after rose season eventually ends (which is later than you think, like around the end of Sept..) at Good Wine we have at least a few delicious roses on hand year round. Not an entire wall upfront like now (to showcase whatever‘s currently in season) but #RoseLovers be sure to ask us even if your beloved pink potion appears to no longer be here! and stay open to pleasant surprises and a world of options & opportunities!... . As you can see, rose wines come in some of the most beautiful colors, packages and wine bottles to ogle in all of wine world they’re made all over the world too!... . Rose is also believed to be the oldest known wine style, that dates back as far as 600 BC.
