On August 10th and 11th, Greentopia will be hosting our first-ever Dinner Off the Bridge a spin-off of our annual Dinner On the Bridge where participants will be able to support our mission by purchasing a to-go dinner from The Cub Room. When community members support Dinner Off the Bridge, you help to recruit, strengthen, and build communities while simultaneously empowering local youth to be agents of change in their communities. The money raised from our socially-distant event will directly benefit Green Visions our Greentopia workforce development program for young adults located in the City of Rochester’s JOSANA neighborhood. Last week, Morgan and Tiani stopped by our partner, Lucas Greenhouses, and planted over 100 trays of flowers to prepare for our program start in July! Each tray... has 50 plugs, with 2 seeds per plug, planting a total of what we hope will be 5000 plants. We plant two per plug so that they compete with each other to grow, and the stronger wins out, making it more likely that the flowers will grow successfully! Thank you to Harris Seeds for the generous seeds donated, and to our friends at Lucas for letting us use their space to start growing!
