Have you ever been nuzzled by 5 miniature mares at the same time? Yesterday I turned the mares loose to run in the arena and sat down on a bench to watch them. After they ran for a while 5 of them came over to see me and get some petting. Then one of them realized she could smell one of their treats that I had in my jacket pocket. At that point the others said I can smell it also and I want it. They were all just about in my lap and I was getting kissed by all of them, in f...act I was close to having lap horses. I got the treat out of my pocket and Penny quickly grabbed it while the others kept insisting that I must have some more for them. Unfortunately I didn't so after a few minutes they wandered away but kept coming back to check if maybe I found an other one. I have never been kissed by so many girls at once, however their whiskers tickled. See more

I am sometimes amazed at the intelligence of the miniature horses. Velvet, our black and white pinto is a master at opening her stall door. She has figured out how to lift the part that holds the slide in place and then pushes the slide back with her nose and "voila ; the door is open. To stop that we used a leather strap that buckled so she couldn't open the door after she unlocked it. Didn't take her too long to figure out how to remove the strap. so we substituted a strap ...that snaps closed. she hasn't figured that out yet and is frustrated. The other day while I was standing by her stall and the strap hadn't been replaced yet, she looked at me, walked over to the gate and with two quick moves, unlocks the gate, pushed it open and then stood and looked at me. How she figured all that out I don't know but I am amazed at her ability to figure out how to do what she did. See more
It's that time of year again!!
Spring is not too far off so it is a good time to think about acquiring Tina and Mia, our driving pair of mares. Their photos are on this page and they are a great driving pair. They drive as singles or as a team. They are very dependable and are very sweet girls. Because they are full sisters and revery bonded , they must go together. They are marched in size and color so they would be great for showing. Come and take a look.
