!!! Exciting news !!! Haven is now looking to hire an Assistant Director and an Associate Director. Qualified candidates for either position will hold Masters degrees, and for the Associate Director position will be a licensed mental health professional. Please share these posting with anyone who may be interested- we are excited to meet many amazing candidates!
We are aware of the recent attacks and the continued violence on the Asian Community in Georgia. We want our students to know that crisis services are available, a counselor on-call is on standby, and appts are available through telehealth with the CC/Haven staff counselors. Support one another, stand up to hate speech, call-in (educate) friends/family who perpetuate aggressions, and take care of each other during this time.
We are so excited to be a part of these amazing workshops presented by @qtpoc_colgate !! These virtual sex education workshops will center queer and BIPOC experiences, but all who are open to learning are welcome. Space is limited so please register using the provided links.
In light of the recent increase in conversations about sexual violence on campus, we want to clarify Haven's role on campus and remind everyone the ways in which we can help: Haven is a confidential resource that centers survivors. Talking to Haven will not trigger any sort of report or investigation. We will never pressure you to report, but we will support you if you choose to. We are here to promote healing and support survivors through counseling, support groups, and othe...r survivor-centric programming. We can also help you navigate other on- and off-campus resources. If you think you may benefit from our services or even just learning more about them, please reach out! ~315-228-7385 [email protected] ~DM this account
ATTN SURVIVORS: Tatiana Fedrick, one of our Haven Ambassadors, needs your help completing her Ambassador project! Now through March 26, Tatiana is collecting from survivors the clothing they were wearing at the time of their assault. She will be creating a powerful exhibit to demonstrate that clothing is *not* the problem. The exhibit will go live the week of April 11, and she is working on determining whether it will be virtual or in-person. ... Anyone who wishes to participate should email Tatiana ([email protected]) to figure out a time and place for her to collect you clothes. She will also get some information about your story. Survivors who participate will remain anonymous (only Tatiana will know your identity) and clothing *will* be returned before the end of the semester.
The one where we explain the difference between a confidential resource and a mandated reporter!
Wondering who will be on the other end if you reach out to HAVEN? These four friendly faces are here to support you!
Apply today to join HAVEN's team as our Program Coordinator! The position will allow you to lead outreach programming on campus, supervise student staff and volunteers, and serve as a confidential resource for student survivors. Link in bio to apply or contact us for more information!
Re-posting for this evening’s workshop! Hope you can join us!
Now's your chance to help shape HAVEN's programming for the semester so that it best serves YOU! Please take a moment to fill out our short survey so that we can give students what they need during this unusual time.

OPEN TO ALL COLGATE FIRST-YEARS: We are here to support you!! If you need help processing the information shared during our orientation webinar or have questions about sexual violence prevention and response services on campus, please stop by our student staffs' open hours (via Zoom, of course!). These open hours are *confidential* and utilizing them does NOT commit you to receiving any further services.
A reminder as we head into this week: The Black folks in your life are f-ing tired and exhausted. Please do not ask them for anything. Please don’t expect them ...to meet deadlines or have their video cameras on on zoom. Please don’t pretend that it is business as usual. Please don’t minimize the immensity of what they are holding. Support them. Love them unconditionally. Invite them to rest. Then take action to fight anti-blackness. Beautiful Black folks, in case no one has reminded you today: you are worthy and deserving of rest, loves. Image: @brandiefreely #blacklivesmatter #restisaradicalpractice See more
