Needing some balance today? Try out this lovely eagle pose. Take a soft bend in your knees. Wrap your right leg over your left. If the right toes wrap around your calf, that's great too. Left arm underneath your right. Palms to touch. Hug everything in like you're a vine wrapped around a tree. Root down through your foundation and Rise up through the length of your spine. Breathe here for a minute or two, and switch sides. Let this verse be your gaze and meditation. Our Brooklyn HYNYC teacher, Megan Febuary shares her story, "Our bodies hold memories, sensations, longings. Our bodies also hold shame. What is body shame? For each person it will look and feel different, but at the core, it's the sense that you have to hide who you are and who you are becoming. I can't put dates around when body shame began and ended for me. A survivor of abuse from early on has made loving my body and intuition hard. Everyday I choose to put off the shame layers I was never meant to wear in the first place. Everyday I choose to say I am a good body. I am loved. I am free." #fearlesstribe #nyc

This is why we come to our mats day after day and week after week. When we're feeling like it and when we'd rather be sitting on the couch eating Cheetos. We come to our mats and surrender, making way for God to do the hard work of cutting back the calluses in our heart, replacing our hearts of stone with hearts of flesh.
