The Indian River Theatre of the Performing Arts would like to extend congratulations to students who have been selected to participate in the NY Thespian statewide virtual performance in 2021. TaeJean LaCroix, Alyssa Normington, Emma Taylor and Emmett Young have been cast in Kodachrome by Adam Szymkowicz. In addition, Kristen Masek has been selected as the Stage Manager for this production. These students applied and auditioned with other theatre students throughout NY State ...and it is an honor to be involved in the inaugural statewide production. From Concord Theatricals, Kodachrome takes the audience to a small town where everybody knows each other and the pace of life allows the pursuit of love to take up as much space as it needs. The tour guide is Suzanne, the town photographer, who lets us peek into her neighbors’ lives to catch glimpses of romance in all its stages of development. A play about love, nostalgia, the seasons and how we learn to say goodbye. Directed by Kristie Fuller and produced by Rosemary Bucher the performance will stream on February 19 - 20, 2021. Look for another announcement with information about tickets in the future.

On behalf of Mary Anne Dobmeier, IRCSD Superintendent and Audrey Stevenson, IRCSD Business manager, we wish to remind you of a very important aspect of our school funding - Federal Impact Aid. This is especially important during these times of great financial insecurity. Impact Aid (funding for schools associated with federal/military properties) makes up 20% of Indian River's anticipated funding for this year and is critical to our ability to provide the quality education w...e have come to expect. This funding is used to provide services to all Indian River students, not just military-connected students, and helps us maintain essential programming, personnel, and facilities to help meet the high demands of modern education. In the coming days, you receive your Impact Aid questionnaire. Please take the time to complete the form and return it to the school in a timely manner. This process is always important, but in a year where state funding is potentially declining (and expenses are increasing), it becomes even more important. To that end... We need your help! Attached to this notification you will find a letter from Brigadier General Funck, Acting Senior Commander at Fort Drum as well as a Federal Impact Aid FAQ. Thank you for your assistance in this essential collection process. If you have any questions, please contact your child's school Principal or the District Business Office at 315-642-3441. Indian River Superintendent Mary Anne Dobmeier, Assistant Superintendent Troy Decker, Social Studies Coach Vicki McCullouch and Upstate National Bank representative Shannon Smith presented a check for ten thousand dollars to Jefferson County SPCA employees Lindsay Hess, Lexi Norris, Katelyn Drohan, and Dex the Great Dane on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. The check represents the over one million pennies collected by students at Indian River Central School District during the p...revious school year as part of the1 Million Pennies Project. The collection began on February 3, 2020, with staff and students anticipating penny collection to take several months in order to reach the lofty goal. However, students met the one million penny goal in just 33 days, completing the project just before the COVID-19 school shutdown in March. Philadelphia Primary School collected the most pennies per student in the district, but there was a large outpouring of support from the entire community and each of the other schools in the district as well. Thank you to the IRCSD community for this tremendous outpouring of support!
