Here is another neighborhood group trying to help neighbors in need - Free Clothing Queens Fundraiser! Please help Free Clothing Queens raise funds for much needed storage space and for transport! Free Clothing Queens was created around the idea of giving support to our immediate community through direct action. We as individuals saw a need and banded together using our unique skills to create an organization of neighbors doing work to directly support our community during ...this crisis we find ourselves in. We saw the waste of good clothing in some neighborhoods and a desperate need for that clothing by those who are barely affording food in other neighborhoods. We decided to be the bridge between the two and threw this clothing drive together in 3 days a few months ago. We hope to keep this clothing drive going for as long as we can and to do that we need your support. See more

Say "Goodbye!" to your 2020 Christmas Trees at MulchFest 2021! Bring your trees and wreaths between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on either Saturday the 2nd or Saturday the 9th at Travers Park. Things to remember: remove all lights, ornaments, bases and wrappings so that everything is ready for the chipper.... Want to volunteer? Join us on the 9th at 10 a.m. along the pedestrian plaza on 78th Street and help us collect trees from the curb to reduce the number of them sent to landfills. You can take Christmas mulch home, so bring your own bag. Hope to see you then!

One of three new tree guards installed by JHBG on 37th Avenue over last two days. As a result of these and five street trees we recently had planted, JHBG will be creating seven new tree gardens come spring. All part of our mission to make Jackson Heights green and environmentally resilient in the face of climate change. Please make a donation and help JHBG continue doing it's good work. Happy 2021!
