Winter is upon us and we here at the office would like to ask for donations of hats, mittens, booties, or blankets for our newborn patients. If you would like to donate please drop off donations or mail them to the office. We appreciate your willingness to help. Some families do not have the resources to prepare their baby for the cold weather. We want to help as much as we can. Thank you in advance.
We've had a lot of calls with questions concerning car seats. We hope this helps!

An astigmatism is an imperfection in the curvature of the eye. When the cornea (the clear front cover of the eye) or the lens inside the eye is curved instead of being even and smooth in all directions, astigmatism occurs. This curvature distorts light rays as they enter the eye and causes blurred vision. Both distance vision and near vision are affected. If your child complains of headaches, squints, blurred vision, closing one eye to read or watch tv, or is sensitive to light, they may have an astigmatism. We offer visual screenings for any of these symptoms. Call our office to set up an appointment.
Limiting children's screen time can help decrease eye strain, decrease headaches, improve their sleep, increase their attention and focus, improve mood, and better relationships.

There are 3 types of attention deficit disorder: Predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive, or a combination of both. Children with inattentive attention deficit often have a difficult time organizing, follow instructions or finish a task. Children with predominantly hyperactive attention deficit have a lot of energy and fidget, are impulsive, and tend to have more risky behavior.... Children with a combined type have symptoms of both inattentiveness and hyperactivity. Attention deficit in general is often characterized by forgetfulness, fidgetiness, making careless mistakes, daydreaming often, and having difficulty playing with peers. Please note: Our policy regarding the following will be strictly enforced. If a patient arrives 15 minutes or more after their scheduled appointment, the appointment will be rescheduled for another date or time. Between physicals and sick visits we have a very full and busy schedule to abide by. If a patient is significantly late this pushes back the entire schedule and causes issues. We have had numerous cases of people showing up late and we are unable to service our patient's in a reasonable time. We appreciate your understanding and consideration.
