Loring Place 16.01.2022

Is there a better way to embrace the freezing temperatures with a glass of Alpine wine?! This month, we are taking a trip to the snowy mountains of Alto Adige with a new wine by-the-glass added to our menu; Gewürztraminer by Erste + Neue, a historic, organic winery in Alto Adige. Its distinctly floral aroma and intense minerality pairs fantastically with our Brussels sprouts pizza with aged cheddar and pickled jalapeños. #altoadigewines #altoadigefoodandwine @altoadigewines

As we got close to opening Loring Place, I wanted to replicate a dish I made on the grill for my family. At the time, I didn’t set out to make this dish, I just set out to make dinner and I was inspired by the market and the seasons. Through time, I made something that’s really become, in the case of Loring Place, a true signature that represents a lot of what I typically want in a dish: seasonality and balance of sweet, sour, spicy, crunchy, creamy, all of those things. - Chef @dan_kluger Try the wood grilled broccoli salad, one of our most popular dishes on the menu- #linkinbio for reservations or to order online. : @evansungnyc

It’s cold put there, NYC! Thankfully, our cellar is stocked with delicious wines that pair perfectly with these freezing temperatures. Come warm up with a bottle of Francesco Rinaldi’s Barolo, made from organic Nebbiolo grapes that hail from a storied vineyard of Brunate; or a silky, mysterious Grenache-blend from Domaine Hauvette in Provence. If you are sticking with a white, we’ve got you covered with a nutty, natural Chardonnay from the mountains of Jura by Valentin Morel. See you at the bar!

It’s the architecture that really sets this calzone apart: @dan_kluger positions little smoked-paprika-scented sausage links all along the inner edge, so you get a taste in every bite and there’s a minimalist blend of fresh ricotta and mozzarella. Most radically, though, Kluger varnishes the surface with sauce and decorates it with thin wheels of @flyingpigsfarm soppressata that sizzle and curl up as they bake in the manner that, according to pepperoni-pizza connoisseurs, makes life worth living - @nymag : @cheatdayeats
