Congratulations to our friends at Nova Bus as today the Government of Canada awarded them $15 million toward their electromobility transformation project! This funding, as part of Nova's overall $184.8 million electromobility project, will strengthen the company’s research and development activities with regards to zero-emission transit buses as well as assist with making upgrades to their QC facilities. The North American Center of Excellence for Transportation Equipment (NAmTrans), a subsidiary of the North Country Chamber of Commerce, is welcoming the recent announcement by TransLink that they have ordered 15 Nova Bus LFSe+ electric buses. "This adoption of Nova Bus' electric bus technology by a major metro region such as Vancouver is another important milestone in Nova Bus' emerging place in the quickly developing electric bus market," says Garry Douglas, Chamber Presiden...t. "While these buses will be produced in Quebec, each new success adds to the momentum that will eventually lead to electric bus production in Plattsburgh. We congratulate Nova Bus and its battery technology partner, BAE Systems Electronic Systems, for this latest step forward, as [the Chamber] continues to work actively with them in New York, Washington and elsewhere toward the vision of Plattsburgh as a leading center for electric bus production in the not too distant future.
