A darling baby boy just 10 weeks old and his big sister age 2 need a team playing nanny. In summer you’ll live in (Mon-Fri) in the Hamptons and then live out throughout the school year on the UWS. A wonderful NCS will focus on the baby throughout the summer. In the Hamptons, the schedule is approximately 40 hours a week, from 11am-7pm. The school year requires 50 hours a week 8-6pm or 9-5pm, TBD as we get closer. A fab labradoodle completes this happy home, and potential trip...s to Miami and an African safari are in the works for 2022! CPR can be renewed upon hire if lapsed and Tdap, flu shot and Covid vaccine preferred. Please be able to drive and swim- must haves! Compensation is DOE. Health Insurance can be provided. What does work-from-home look like from a child's perspective? Give this article from The Cut a read for some comic relief!
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently changed their guidelines on childcare. The bottom line: children, and their caregivers, need to be nurtured. While this may seem obvious to many, their updated guidelines represent progress in developing resources and support for children and those involved in their care. Learn more about the implications of these guidelines in this article from the World Economic Forum

This is a Monday-Friday position, approx. 50 hours a week.... A recent American Psychological Association article titled "The serious business of play" outlines how the pandemic provides a huge opportunity to use play to promote healthy development. Here are some key takeaways: 1. While parents and caregivers often feel pressured to plan structured activities to keep children engaged, there's actually empirical evidence that suggests unstructured play (defined as "play that isn't organized or directed by adults...and that generally d...oesn't have a defined purpose or outcome") is critical for healthy development 2. Grownups should take part in unstructured play with children, to develop a strong relationship, and help manage anxiety 3. Sit back and let the kids take the lead! Foster a judgement-free play environment that encourages creativity and imagination Happy Playtime! See more
Today is Mental Health Awareness Day! Do your part to support your community during this isolating and scary time, and be sure to keep taking care of yourself! As parents, nannies, and educators, it can be hard to find the time and space for self-care, but it’s critical for your well-being!
This week is Fire Prevention Week, a great opportunity to review fire safety protocols. As nannies, it’s critical to have a conversation with your employers to ensure you’re aware of any fire evacuation plans and fire safety protocols. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has excellent resources, including activities to educate kids on fire safety. Head to their site nfpa.org for more!
As many parents and caregivers have realized, it’s hard for a young child to truly connect with people over FaceTime or Zoom. How does this lack of social interaction impact their development? The New York Times explores that! Check out the link below for insights on how the pandemic has influenced social interaction and development in little ones, and ways you can support them.
1 in 8 American women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime, which is why we raise awareness for this disease over the course of October. The childcare industry is largely women-dominated, meaning that many of our providers are either at risk of breast cancer or have been already diagnosed at some point in their lives. This month we support our survivors, raise awareness about the disease, and advocate for preventative safety measures we can take (such as getting yearly mammograms). Make sure to wear your pink ribbon this month!
We're still on a high from last week's Association of Premier Nanny Agencies (APNA) annual conference. Thank you to the APNA team and our colleagues and mentors for inspiring, supporting, and leading by example. And a special thank you to the incredible sponsors who made it possible - Homepay, Homework Solutions, GTM, The International Nanny Association, PFC Caregiver Screening, Newborn Care Solutions, and Alpha Omega Coverage Corp.
October has arrived, which means it's time to start getting ready for Halloween and cooler weather! Stay tuned for our favorite costumes and tips for your kiddos as it begins to get chilly!
These past few months have been everything but calm, and we’re all feeling the stress. While caring for little ones, it's important to make sure we're taking care of ourselves. UC Berkeley has a wonderful hub of resources on their The Greater Good Science Center magazine, where they offer science-based insights for a meaningful life. Check out this article for tips from Dr. James Gordon on ways to lower anxiety levels.
It’s National Nanny Recognition Week and we’re sending a huge shout out to all the amazing nannies we have the privilege to represent and those around the globe for the tremendous support they provide families all year round.
While many schools this fall are either remaining online or introducing a hybrid-learning plan, many parents are forming learning pods. Check out the The New York Times Q&A about learning pods to learn more about this creative education option.
