According to County Executive George Latimer, there are 7,925 active cases in Westchester County. According to the latest map, 55 of these cases are in New Castle. The number of active cases in the County is the highest it has been since late April. Since the Monday before Election Day the number of active cases has increase 5x. The following is the recent trend: One week ago: 6,117 Countywide, 45 in New Castle Two weeks ago: 4,808 Countywide, 54 in New Castle Three weeks ago...: 3,082 Countywide, 50 in New Castle Four weeks ago: 1,785 Countywide, 30 in New Castle Five weeks ago: 1,350 Countywide, 20 in New Castle Six weeks ago: 1,150 Countywide, 14 in New Castle Seven weeks ago: 1,033 Countywide, 10 in New Castle Eight weeks ago: 868 Countywide, 9 in New Castle Nine weeks ago: 678 Countywide, 5 in New Castle The positivity rate in Westchester is 6.09% (yesterday). The number of tests given was 8,468, and the number of positive cases was 516. There are 3,100 hospital beds in Westchester. As of 12/5/2020 there were 321 people hospitalized. The following is the recent trend: 11/28: 244 hospitalized 11/21: 168 hospitalized 11/14: 121 hospitalized 11/7: 79 hospitalized In the past week there have been 19 fatalities, 5 of which happened overnight last night. In sum, 1,534 people have passed away from COVID-19 in Westchester County. The following is the recent trend: One week ago: 15 fatalities Two weeks ago: 12 fatalities Three weeks ago: 11 fatalities. Stay safe and stay healthy. Wear a mask.

Concerned that changing legislation means development on the Town-owned land? It won't! The Form Based Code proposes to rezone Town-owned land from an industrial zoning designation to a zoning designation that provides an opportunity for the Town Board to consider the sale or lease of Town-owned land for future development. No development of Town-owned land is currently proposed. Rather, the Form Based Code designates Town-owned land surrounding the train station as a cent...er, calling for enlargement of the landmarked A.H. The Chappaqua Hamlet’s business districts in the study area will be replaced by an entirely new zoning district that will primarily regulate the form of development with greater flexibility in regard to the use of properties. The change from conventional zoning code to a form-based zoning code in the Chappaqua Hamlet business districts is essential for guiding new growth and future economic development in a manner that is consistent with community planning goals. The Transect is a planning and zoning tool that organizes sub-districts in a continuum from rural to urban. Each sub-district has a defining set of physical characteristics that increases intensity as it progresses from rural to urban. The most intense sub-district is generally located at a physical center (such as a transit station, downtown, hamlet center, or similar) with increasingly less intense sub-districts generally in rings surrounding the center. Each sub-district permits a variety of uses and intensities. The intent of this pattern of development is to create compact walkable communities that promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community through a livable built environment, harmony with nature, a resilient economy, a healthy community, and responsible regionalism. A message from Tejash Sanchala, Executive Director of the Westchester County Human Rights Commission: We received such positive feedback from our first virtual ...program on Bystander Intervention Training that we have decided to host a second virtual session as part of our series on racism and hate! On Thursday October 15th from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Hollaback! will present virtual, live training with an interactive element and a Q&A period. This program aims to empower community members with tools so that they can be upstanders when they see hate or harassment. The program is free and open to the public. It is a timely program given our current climate. A recording will not be posted so register today!
