Worship with us this Sunday!

New Day Church 13.07.2021

For the past two Sundays, we’ve discussed the theme Reimagining Community. For the disciples and the apostles, Building and maintaining community was risky business. Faced with the many growing challenges of a global pandemic, we kicked off this series as the beginning of a conversation about being in person again soon. If you’ve been wondering, yes! We are discerning how we will worship in the coming future. As we imagine being in person again, we have asked New Day membe...rs to discuss these guiding questions, and we encourage ALL to participate in this exercise (you can do this through journaling, discussing them with your family around the dinner table, or in your small friend groups): What are you willing to risk? What are you NOT willing to risk? (Boundaries for physical safety are OKAY, it’s just helpful to name them.) In last Sunday’s sermon, Pastor Tabatha challenged us to think about how pandemic fatigue has caused many of us to limit how much we interact with community. How is spirit beckoning you to move contrary to the ways that you've been moving? Are you quite ready to expand your ideas around who is your community and who you consider chosen family? A community survey with additional questions is forthcoming! This Sunday, we will continue to unpack the scripture (Acts 2:42-47) with a guided Lectio Divina practice. Lectio Divina is a 4-part spiritual practice that involves -Reading -Meditation -Prayer -Contemplation We hope that you join us this Sunday!
