It's Kidney Walk Week and we have special Kidney Walker we want to shout out! Thank you for all you do Monique! #KidneyWalkLaceUp Monique Eveillard is walking for her third consecutive year. After being diagnosed with renal failure a year after her sister received the same diagnosis that proved fatal, Monique turned to her inner strength. She continued to work at a law firm, tend to her children, and be a wife all while continuing peritoneal dialysis four times per day. Despi...te feeling the pressure of her circumstances Monique did not let her spirit break. In 1993, her doctor called to let her know that a match was found and she would be able to receive a kidney transplant. Monique remembers the feeling of life that poured into her as she woke up from her surgery -- and vowed to give back in any way she could. Though she is also a poet, Monique says the Kidney Walk has been the most rewarding way she has given back to the community. Learn more about Monique and her story: See more
