It's time to SOUND THE ALARM!! 2020 has been such a topsy turvy year and we were unable to go to the schools to do our annual fire prevention presentations. And that made us sad :( . To cheer us up we decided to once again hold the SOUND THE ALARM challenge for all elementary and middle school students in the Oneida City School District. Watch the video below to find out what this is all about (it's from previous years but you'll get the idea). Come back tomorrow to find out what cool prizes are up for grabs to the winners. We'll also be posting directions on how to upload your videos. Let's make this the best year yet to SOUND THE ALARM!!! #smokealarmssavelives #soundthealarm2020

Our Little Hero Bear is all alone in the Toys for Tots box here at the fire department. Won't you please give it some friends? Donations of new, unwrapped toys will be accepted at the fire department box until December 1st. Please help make Christmas 2020 a merry one for a child in need.

Being unable to hold the Christmas Movie with Santa this year we were asked to join with the police department and help area kids with their Christmas shopping. We had such a great time with the kids and think the kids had a great time, too. Thank you to the OPD for asking us to join and thank you to Walmart for once again hosting this special event.

...unless you have a 10 yr battery. Don't change those just yet.

Remember to submit your Sound the Alarm video today! The more "likes" you get, the higher the chance of winning a bike, a ride to school in a fire truck, a pizza party and so on. Submit them today to: [email protected] or [email protected]

Beautiful photos are sometimes deceiving. These 2 in particular were masterfully shot by a couple amateur photographers. Sadly, they show the devastating fires going on in Colorado now. We send our prayers to those fighting and those affected the fires.

Should you submit a Sound the Alarm video? These prizes should help you decide. Remember, this year we're opening it up to the middle school students, too. Sorry, it's only open to students in the Oneida City School District.

Keep anything that can catch fire paper towels, oven mitts, wooden utensils, food packaging, towels and curtains away from your stove top.

If you've driven by the fire station recently you may have noticed the red lights over the truck bay doors. The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation asked fire departments across the country to light their buildings in red to honor America's fallen heroes during America's Tribute to Fallen Firefighters. In so doing we are showing respect to fallen firefighters and their families.
