Shout out to Karlin Chan and the volunteers of the #ChinatownBlockWatch thank you for helping to keep our neighborhood safe Karlin, a lifelong community activist, started the Chinatown Block Watch in late February when Chinatown residents were harassed due to anti-Asian racism and xenophobia. The Watch roamed the streets, making sure people felt safe. Since then Karlin has worked tirelessly to keep his beloved neighborhood not just alive but alive and kicking. When outdoo...r dining opened up, he and a group of volunteers started sweeping the streets early Saturday mornings, to make the dining experience more enticing. Most recently he started the Chinatown Mural Project, partnering with artist Peach Tao to create delightful murals celebrating the culture, history, and people of Chinatown.
