Meet Sweet Mimi. We are a 501c3 rescue group looking for a caring home for our SUPER loving 5 year old angel. Mimi sadly has lived just about her whole life with minimal shelter in the outdoor elements. Green eyed, beautiful Mimi was rescued a few months ago. In temporary quarters with a foster mom who would keep her in a heartbeat, Mimi’s rough upbringing has made her a little needy, preferring to be the only cat in a household. She’ll contently rest on you lap while you...'re at the computer or watching TV, and will follow you around like a puppy dog. Mimi is spayed, vaccinated and turned up negative for leukemia and AIDS. If you crave a super loving cat as much as she craves to be loved, this will be a match made in heaven. Please call Sylvia 845-634-0345 (landline) or 845-596-7512 (cell). Mimi thanks you. See more

Piermont local and lovely lady Betsy Franco Feeney, often referred to as the ‘Mayor of Piermont’, recently released her next book JEWELS Of The SEA... The Hunt for Floating Treasure. A picture book by an award-winning author/illustrator. With a target audience of K3, Jewels of the Sea... The Hunt for Floating Treasure is a magical deep dive in search of gems more beautiful than you might ever imagine! Readers of all ages will learn lots of cool science facts about these "ge...ms". While we are all being affected by an unseen virus, Jewels of the Sea The Hunt for Floating Treasure will introduce children to the extremely important microscopic plant-like organism, the diatom, which makes life on earth possible! The book is meant to inspire interest and respect for the natural world. You'll be amazed to learn, for example, that parts of diatoms were used in building the pyramids! And most importantly, how diatoms produce 25% of the oxygen we breathe! Other valuable roles diatoms play include helping to combat global warming and aiding scientists in the research of climate change. REVIEWS: As a diatom researcher, I tell my students that diatoms are the most important organism people have never heard of. This book will take the reader on a whimsical adventure into the microscopic world of diatoms that highlights their importance in the world. (I wish microgoggles were real!)" Victoria Chraibi, PhD, Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences, Tarleton State University Jewels of the Sea does a phenomenal job of taking the microscopic world of diatoms to a macroscopic scale, giving readers an appreciation for their beauty and significance. The combination of imagination and reality takes us on an unforgettable treasure hunt. Come get immersed in this delightful exploration!"
