Sons of the American Legion Post 974

On behalf of the Sons of the American Legion Post 974 we would like to pay our respects to all who have served or currently serving. Our mission is to not just stand united in respect for you, our veterans for one day but WE STAND UNITED IN RESPECT EVERYDAY! We thank you for your service and your sacrifice. FOR GOD AND COUNTRY!

Some people do not see what the Sons of the American legion do or capable of. Our mission is to promote national security, patriotism, youth and devotion to veterans. There are several things we do to fulfill our mission such as scholarships, veterans help programs, and youth sports. This past month we were able to help out 98 year old WWII veteran and legionairre of our post Howard Sprague. We were told that his recliner that he spent a good part of his time in broke and being on a fixed income we wanted to help so we went out and bought him a new one. Dropping it off and shaking his hand and thanking him for his service was all the thanks we needed. Striving to reach our mission of the betterment of veterans is overly rewarding and the least we can do for all their service and sacrifices.

Birthday parade for Lowell Smith, (turning 90, ww2 vet, 974 member) tomorrow at 1:00 pm... starting at glen Aubrey fire station... sorry for the short notice, Covid 19 ruined his plans.... please spread the word. For God and country!
