Continuing with our series, "Getting to Know Your Team at Smiles On The Canal Dentistry..." today Part 1 of our interview with Kathy Neumeister, RDH, a dental hygienist at Smiles On The Canal. What is the best part of your job? "I love having conversations with little kids, something most adults don't get to do at work! Also when patients are appreciative of me doing a good job - which mostly means I didn't hurt them!"... Something about your job that patients/parents would be surprised to learn? "I actually really like seeing patients who haven't had their teeth cleaned in a long time - they have the biggest difference when they leave, and it's very rewarding personally to have changed someone's appearance so dramatically in a short period of time. They are also still likely thinking about it the next day, where most regular recall patients aren't." Favorite movie and why? "I have always loved 'Mary Poppins' & 'Sound of Music' - big Julie Andrews fan! Followed very closely by 'Stepbrothers' and 'Bridesmaids' - funny every single time." Stay tuned for Part 2 with Kathy. And if you need to make a hygiene appointment, you can book an appointment online at www.smilesonthecanal.com/new-patients or by calling our office at (585) 223-5480

Continuing with our series, "Getting to Know Your team at Smiles On The Canal Dentistry..." Today, Part 1 of our interview with Dr. Oriana Ly-Mapes, our Board-certified Pediatric Dentist at Smiles On The Canal. What made you want to become a dentist? "I think that smiling is contagious, and I want every kid to feel confident in their smiles."... Something about your job that patients (or their parents) would be surprised to learn: "That we see children as young as a year old! It's never too early (or late) to schedule a first visit!" Favorite movie and why? "Secret Life of Pets - because it has such a fun perspective and has lessons about sticking together that I want my kids to learn. And I love the music in it!" Stay tuned for Part 2 with Dr. Mapes. And if you'd like a consultation, you can book an online appointment at www.smilesonthecanal.com/new-patients or by calling our office at (585) 223-5480

Get to know your team at Smiles On The Canal Dentistry! Today, Part 1 of our interview with Dr. Abner De los Santos, General Dentist at Smiles On The Canal. "Being able to know who my patients are, and becoming friends with them is my favorite part about coming to work every day," Dr. De los Santos said. What is the best part about being a Dentist? "The best part about being a Dentist, hands down, are the relationships that I have with my patients. I am a very social person a...nd love to take the time to have genuine and open conversations with everyone. Being able to know who my patients are, and becoming friends with them is my favorite part about coming to work every day. I don't just come to work, I come to work to see my friends (my staff and my patients)." Why did you decide to come work at Smiles On The Canal? "I chose to work at Smiles On The Canal for many reasons. However, a big one for me was the community aspect. Fairport has one of the biggest close-knit communities in our area! Being part of a community makes us feel as if we are part of something greater than ourselves. Smiles On The Canal excels at giving patients and staff opportunities to connect. I wanted to work in a place where I was able to help people reach their dental goals, and what better place than Smiles On The Canal. Not to mention, the beauty of the dental office literally being right on the canal! How could anyone not want to work here?" Something about your job that patients would be surprised to learn: "Something about my job that our patients are surprised to learn is that I have extensive knowledge of the new technology that we have recently implemented with iTero. We now no longer have to take those annoying impressions, we can now use 3D scanning! The scanner is a great tool for straightening teeth with Invisalign, scanning for crowns, bridges, dentures - and even for tracking the wear and changes to your teeth over time." Stay tuned for Part 2 with Dr. D (Dr. De los Santos)! And if you'd like a consultation, you can book an online appointment at www.smilesonthecanal.com or by calling our office at (585) 223-5480
