Let me start by saying that ALL Rotarians pay a fair amount each year to be a part of such a wonderful organization that gives back on the community level and b...eyond. The first Rotary club was founded in 1905 by Paul Harris, a lawyer in Chicago who wanted to network with like-minded individuals. His motto was "in fellowship and friendship". Since then Rotary's mission has become so much bigger, but recognition is given in his honor to those Rotarians who give more. Our club is proud to announce that we have two such people who we recognized at today's meeting. Vin Borges and Roy Bartels were presented with awards at different levels for each contributing amounts exceeding $1000 to The Rotary Foundation. It is an honor to perform "service above self" with these fine gentlemen. Special thanks to Dominick Tuminaro for giving the awards. See more
