Chris sent me a message with these photos tonight and it’s looking like a winter wonderland up north! It sounds like he had an amazing day! Chris set a goal to hike some high peaks this winter. Instead of diving into a situation he wasn’t sure of, he opted to do a smaller challenge in order to test out his gear and layering which, in my opinion, is the best approach. I think most of us knew this was coming. The Catskill 3500 club worked diligently for months trying to resolve the issues surrounding these two peaks. Thanks for taking the Scenic Route AGAIN, Steve! It was a huge weekend for Steve. He took some time off from work and started his visit to the Adirondacks with a trip up Big Slide via the Brothers. Yesterday he got himself out for some smaller hikes to prep his legs for a hike up Colden with @adk_honey_badger today! The minute I met him, I knew that Chelsea would also have a great hike with him today, and I was ! Great job today, you guys! Another beautiful day. I am ...so thankful for where my path has taken me. Steve was an absolute joy to have on the trail. I have said it before and I will say it again, I love hearing people's story. A great way to get to know someone...Go on a hike with them. It's amazing how easily one can relax, open up, chat, share opinions, stories, the things they point out that catches there eye Vs what catches yours and so much more. At the end of the day, I almost forgot I was working. I am so blessed to be able to get so much out of this work.
