As scary as these types of surgeries may sound, they really improve patients lives. I have recent examples of both primary and revision surgeries that have turned out very well for the patients. Obviously there is rehabilitation and healing time that is involved. Ultimately the quality of life does improve significantly. #spinesurgery #scoliosis #deformitysurgery

So glad to have trained with Dr. Schwab on using this software that allows us to plan the most complex spine surgeries. When I was a fellow, he explained that he thought it was strange that we planned these surgeries in our minds or roughly with x-rays. He made us use an early version of this program to plan the surgeries and it has definitely made a difference. Glad to see that the data is finally showing that we must plan surgeries in this way in order to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.
