We hope everyone has a safe New Year’s Eve tonight! We’ve all been through a lot this year and this community remained resilient, strong and together. Let’s start the New Year with hope and optimism and put 2020 behind us once and for all

Restoration times for some have moved to 11:00pm this evening. We are hopeful that power will be restored to most well before that time. NYSEG will be giving us a more thorough update later this afternoon and we will communicate that to you as soon as we have it. We are doing everything we can to move this along as quickly as humanly possible.

NYSEG stated that 95% of customers will be restored by 11pm this evening. They have focused their crews here in Pawling and Holmes as we were hardest hit. 2020. Please make it stop.

The Town of Pawling is looking for a Planning Board member. The position is appointed by the Town Board. In general, the position requires attendance at 2 meetings per month on Monday evenings (first and third) and an occasional special meeting and site inspections. You must be a resident of Pawling. All Board members are required to obtain four (4) hours of training per year. The Planning Board oversees applications for subdivisions, site plans, Special Use Permits, sign...age and telecommunication towers, as well as updating the Town’s zoning ordinances. If you have an interest in the community and the future quality of life in the Town of Pawling and are willing to obtain a working knowledge of the Town Comprehensive Plan, Town code, State and Local environmental policies and land use planning activities we encourage you to apply. Board members must have the ability to make sound planning decisions. Well, Merry Christmas 2020 - most of us don’t have power. NYSEG and our crews are out in force to get everyone back in power and clear debris as soon as possible. We will update everyone as we get more information and restoration times. Remember to stay away from downed wires and do not touch them under any circumstances.

The voting results for the proposed consolidation for the TOWN of Pawling (not the Village results) is as follows: Yes - 341 No - 891

While we did get *a lot* of snow (12-14) there are thankfully no power outages, it’s a fluffy snow and the sun is coming out. Since we’ll all be shoveling for the rest of the day and our Highway crews are working hard on the roads, all Town offices including the Transfer Station will be closed today and will reopen tomorrow morning at 8:30am. Please stay off the roads if possible - less cars on the road means they get cleared faster!

It’s a beautiful day for a walk in Lakeside Park

Our Assessor did some great fall decorating at the golf course this morning!

We’re in the process of making a beautiful new space for a community garden. In order to accomplish that we need to take down the Burr House safely, and our crews are hard at work doing just that. We can’t wait for the community to have a great new green space to enjoy!
