Did you know a Box turtle only roams 1 mile its whole life? If it is removed from its area/home then for the rest of its life it will roam aimlessly stressed ou...t... trying to find "home" until it dies a very sad death. Please do not remove turtles. Do not take them home as pets. If one is injured please mark the exact spot found for the wildlife center. If a turtle is in the road you can help by moving it directly across the street in the direction it was heading. Thank you! I post this every few month because it's not really known. Many people think it is harmless to let their children take home a docile turtle to play with and release it someplace they see appropriate. I was once that kid. Please share the knowledge. http://www.boxturtles.com/box-turtle-conservation/

RACCCONS Follow Cats to feeding stations if they know the cat food goes out in daytime then yes they will be there to eat in daytime They are SMART not SICK. - If an Animal has RABIES- YOU WILL NOTICE that they are actually Sick..

Bats are being culled in mass number due to misinformation about covid 19. Our increase in calls about wildlife reportedly with Covid 19, from raccoons to squir...rels, and comments about them has increased. These animals should not be persecuted when there is no concrete evidence to show that they were the source of this disease and if they were, information points to there being an intermediate host between the bats and humans. There are over 1400 bat species in the world, many of whom have cohabitated with humans for thousands of years and do not pose a threat. The disease is being transmitted from human to human. We are not worried about this disease at all in our wildlife patients so neither should you! It is unfair to use these amazing creatures as a scapegoat!!! They need to be spoken up for to continue to protect them and end the wrongful persecution of them! @turtlerescueofthehamptons See more

Keep America Beautiful!!!!! Don’t pollute!! It’s upsetting for me to see swans, ducks and even muskrats in the creek next to my house with all this garbage floa...ting in the water. My friend Chelsea and her rescue team just helped a duck that had plastic around its neck from garbage. I spent some time in the creek today, and got lots of garbage out, but I am the only person doing this, that I know of. The garbage is coming mostly from the storm drains. When people throw their garbage in the street and it ends up in the drains and into our water ways. Our wildlife suffers. Please do not throw things in the street. If you see garbage in the street pick it up if you can. This will help clean the water for us and our Wildlife... See more

Update to my post: I have posted so many post as well as others on this very topic. People continue to ignore it. I can be direct and harsh at times. I had arou...nd 6 people that got pissed off because how dare I say it’s their fault. 9 times out of 10 it is. Thing is it doesn’t matter whose fault it is!! It’s our responsibility to make sure these animals are not harmed in removing them. I put this post in around 25 raccoon groups. I ruffled some feathers. Guess what? I now have people talking about this very topic. I got their attention. BINGO!! I accomplished what I set out to do. I have had around 400 shares in just one post alone. Now people are talking . Most people are listening. Most people don’t like to be blamed. I’m not here to kiss ass! I’m here to save raccoons and other wildlife lives. They are what matter to me. It is that time of year Raccoons are looking for a place to have their babies. If they have gotten in your attic. It’s your own DAMN FAULT!! Leave her alone. Let her raise her babies and leave on her own. Or put a radio in the attic so she will move the babies on her on. Most pest controls in the majority of the states MUST KILL THE RACCOONS AND THE BABIES!!! Reach out to a rehabber for advice on how to get the momma raccoon to leave on her own!! If you must call a pest control company. Ask them if they kill the raccoon! If you still have them to remove her and her babies after knowing this. You are a heartless excuse for a human!! These babies were going to be killed today for this same reason! The mother was already killed!!They either drown or shoot the raccoon!!Leave the raccoon alone!! It’s your fault she is in your garage or attic in the first place. Now do you want this on your conscience?
