American Legion Riders, Wheatfield Post # 1451 28.11.2020

We had a low key social distanced Christmas get together. And a good time was had by all..

American Legion Riders, Wheatfield Post # 1451 24.11.2020

On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, at 7:48 a.m. Hawaiian Time, 353 Japanese fighter planes, bombers, and torpedo planes from the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service attached Naval Station Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii, without warning and without a declaration of war. This action resulted in the deaths of 2,403 American non-combatants, and injuring 1,178 others. The attack sank two U.S. Navy battleships and damaged five others. It also damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, and one minelayer. Aircraft losses were 188 destroyed and 159 damaged. Each year on December 7th flags are to be flown at half-staff to honor those who lost their lives in the attack. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset.

Wishing for all of you to have a Thankful Thanksgiving. And remember those First Responders and our Armed Forces that are serving their Country and communities, unable to be with family.

It is U.S. Army tradition for leaders to staff the serving line and serve their Soldiers a Thanksgiving meal. It's a leader's way of saying thank you to the Soldiers who dedicate themselves year-round to accomplishing the mission. The Old Guard is all about tradition! #HappyThanksgiving

To our members, veterans, family members, our military. To our Legionnaires, Sons, Auxiliary, and Riders. I hope that you all have a Happy Thanksgiving. Enjo...y your families this day, be safe, do the right thing but enjoy your family. We may not get them again next year. Enjoy this holiday season. Remember our service members who are still deployed and can not be home with their families as well. Reach out to our fellow veterans who may be home alone and my need someone as well. Thank you for our all our members who have done so much this year i am always grateful for all that you do. There are so many things that i want to do still for our post and community and hope that our members continue to support our post and community. Take care and be safe and enjoy your family. Respectfully your commander Micheal Nussbaum See more
