The Mayor's proposed budget has eliminated these programs which means that our youth will have a lot of unsupervised, unstructured time on their hands. Coalition for Hispanic Family Services has been providing virtual after-school programming to all of our children for the past 6 weeks. We are prepared to do the same this summer should the city re...main on stay-at-home status. As the city prepares to reopen we will gradually reopen our summer day camp programs if funding is available. I believe that the lack of summer programming for children and youth will place them at greater risk for being exposed to the Corona virus which will in turn expose their family members as well. Congratulations to the student's of Coalition's Arts & Literacy Robotics Program at IS 227 who participated in a competition at Aviation High School on Saturday, January 11. The students did an amazing job and were second in the design portion of the competition. Way to go!!!
