Warming up -- with Terry Grimes.
What a blast working with David Northrup. Blessed to have met this amazing guy at a very cool event. Dave has so much to offer our local music community -- I am hoping we can get him back in-town for another event I also want to thank Anthony Gray-- AKAGray Scale Painting for the video support....and Mark Bolos Sr. for everything YOU do for our local community.
Doing what we do--
Looking forward to this event with Dave Northrup & Big Apple Music -- should bring out a lot of local musicians. https://fb.me/e/4ld25JbX9
Geeky fun stuff-- A small fleet of G4's supporting the pro tools MIX Plus system, getting fresh drives & ram. This system preceded the HD platform, and is all based around TDM architecture(Google that) introduced by the Bell telephone guys originally for integrating digital phone matrix -- digidesign adapted this technology, placing all the processing on PCI cards(pictured) containing the Motorola chip sets supplying the processing horsepower from the cards...not the host pu...ter. Because the host drive is basically running software... you experience no audible latency... and colorless conversion with rock solid performance. The blackface interfaces(pictured upper left), were responsible for a good portion of the radio recordings from 1997 thru circa 2004. It was also just after digi partnered with AVID. Here's a link for the history of Pro Tools if anyone is interested. https://www.pro-tools-expert.com//the-history-of-pro-tools
Wishing Ed Smith a Happy Birthday. Pictured with his priceless gem... Mr Folkcaster.
Fun afternoon capturing cadence style tracks with Mike Oliver.
Busy room today making music-- 3 sessions, 36 basic tracks, 9 overdubs, and catching up with some great people.
Marshall tracks--
Zipped right along today. With Mike Tebo & John Fleming.
1971 -- the genre was folk / soft rock...and Joni Mitchell released Blue -- her 4th studio album. If you are a folk writer, this is a must on your inspiration list. Besides the incredible melody that she creates vocally... this record is full of creative acoustic recording and beautiful arrangements.
