Diversity and Representation are so important and matters so much for every child!

We will be celebrating Black history month by reading books that celebrate the beauty of diversity written by award-winning Black authors. How will you celebrate this month?

I'm very happy to be joining Black History Month In Kingston to present this special Black History Month story time featuring books that celebrate cultural diversity. Zoom link for this event will be posted 3 days before the event.

Today is a perfect example of why Mountain Rise Daycare doesn't follow the Kingston school district, although we certainly take into consideration all surrounding school districts when making a decision about inclement weather procedures and changes to schedules. The children were able to enjoy the morning by using textured chunky paint brushes to create a Blizzard, then we read and watch our favorite winter story The Snowman . Add to that academic work for the preschoolers, a 50 min Yoga and Dance session and 3 nutritious meals including lunch right before closing at 1pm as snow was quickly accumulating. Mountain Rise Daycare always attempts to open/remain open as much as possible during inclement weather days!
