On October 31st, the Healthplex staff of Daniel Bonilla and Albert Jovel, together with four St. Barnabas Hospital ER residents and community organizers, provid...ed treats and gifts to low income local families. Organic treats and candies were given out in the hospital parking lot area with seasonal music playing from the volunteer’s cars. The ER team volunteers also donated bike helmets to the children who visited as well as backpacks containing school supplies. 60+ children from the area next to the Hospital were able to show off their Halloween costumes. The volunteers braved the chilly fall weather to bring smiles to the parents and children of the Bronx. Those who attended expressed their gratitude for the support and interest in the new wellness center. Everyone is looking forward to the opening of the new Center!
