What are you looking to protect from the climate crisis? Your heart? Your neighborhood? Your planet? Then join us on Saturday, February 13th as we lead a parade of resistance to the proposed fracked gas power plant in Gowanus, Brooklyn-one of the neighborhoods most at risk from fossil fuel pollution. We will meet at Thomas Greene Park at 2:00 pm EST and march through Gowanus before ending back where we started. Make a heart sign with what you want to protect and carry or wear it as you march! Hey 350 Brooklyn! Have you dreamed of winning a game show your whole life? Have you also been dreaming of ways to stop dirty fracked gas power plants in New York City? Then tonight might be your lucky night! Climate (in) Jeopardy is a fun virtual trivia event where you can play alongside three special guests to test your knowledge of the climate crisis, and NRG’s proposal to build a fracked gas power plant in Astoria, Queens. You’ll also learn how we’ve beaten fracked gas projects before, and how together we can stop NRG from building a peaker plant that would threaten our air, our health and our future. RSVP TODAY and if you want a leg up on the competition check out the teach-in on the power plan. Links for both are enclosed in the comments below. Hope you can make it!

Despite our current climate and public health crises, big Wall Street firms are trying to push forward dirty, dangerous fossil fuel plants here in New York City. One major proposal for a new fossil fuel facility is the Gowanus fracked gas plant being proposed right on the Gowanus Bay. That area of Brooklyn has already experienced great environmental injustice and our government is committed to clean up the Gowanus canal, a toxic superfund site. What is the Gowanus fracked ga...s plant and why are Wall Street private interests financing this a foolhardy proposal to burn more fossil fuels in Brooklyn? More importantly, how can we stop this Gowanus fracked gas plant from being approved and move New York to 100% renewable energy? Join activists throughout the city for a virtual teach-in on the Gowanus fracked gas plant to learn the answers to these questions and more! We can stop the Gowanus fracked gas plant and all new fossil fuel infrastructure being proposed here in New York City. Join us and share widely to make sure we build back fossil free! #NoFrackedGowanus https://www.facebook.com/events/284761816402385/
