Student shared a really cute graphic. Thought it might make ya giggle. Could we say student’s expression is confused, embarrassed, disappointed thinking it will never have a center not believing he/she will ever be enough? Illumination can be scary and even a source of fear to never look inside. Glad we do have places and teachers who understand this in the yoga world of instruction. III in 1 Yoga aims to be understanding. Each year and each body taught gets us ever closer to understanding with grace and humility.

Almond ricotta cheese, on ancient grain tortilla, lambs quarters (aka wild spinach), steamed asparagus, and avocado for lunch today. Am learning living with autoimmune disease that higher protein intake is more important for pre-post operative care, healing. Combine that with more rest and less expectation of gotta get it done and hopefully surgery round two this year will go more smoothly! Will post again when there is more knowledge about the surgery due this week.... Peace to all those who have been yoga fans and friends along this life journey.

from "The More Loving One" by W.H. Auden How should we like it were stars to burn With a passion for us we could not return? If equal affection cannot be,... Let the more loving one be me. I share the beginning of this poem with you b/c we all need a reminder to share a capacity of love within us as a conscious practice AND b/c the natural world is the source of much happiness to meditate and be with to brighten each second of life. May you be able to steele away a glimpse of the stars without light pollution as a gift to your soul. Jai Guru Devi (To Victory in Life and Health) *Source for poem was highlighted from the Maria Popova Brain Pickings Newsletter

Really enjoying the work of Krista Tippet OnBeing.org. Contemplation and exploration of a variety of viewpoints is so healthy to appreciating others.

I have an extra Facebook page I’d like to delete. Any idea how to do so? Miss speaking to real people for customer service some times. LOL

Anyone considered the gray-scale filter for the phone/e devices? Why you say? It can be a tool to employ for reducing addiction to all things EEEEE...lectronic.... Can do for all except times for mindful use of color. Namaste

Enjoyed the treat of yoga with first teacher this past Friday evening. Reflections and sequencing notes now in journal am willing to recreate the nuisances and subtleties alone on the mat; not the same vibe as in a large group. Alone...yes...but not a loneliness you see. A different vibe of being with this soul inside to explore what arises within as I travel the roadmap of asana, pranayama, Dhyana, and Dharana. Samadhi maybe yes or no but one must consider the attempt to d...o so, lest we float in the wind like a seed to be planted wherever. Successful seeds land where there is nourishment and potential for such. Guidance is not the same as control. Control fights the flow...guidance watches, observes, steps into purposely created space. Making space...not filling it. Filling to overflow is noise. Letting go of noise. Yes! Classes this week: Tues/Thurs 8:45-10:15AM And Wednesday at 7PM -8:15PM (come early this week to set up in a classroom down the hallway as there is a church service occurring at the same time). Share if you like. Namaste Carol

At some point, as one ages, the desire to live well, encourages us to overcome that which is destructive in that pursuit of wellness. That is when we consider the eight limbs of yoga in total are greater than just the one limb that enticed us to consider practice in the first place. There can be boredom yes. There can be frustration yes. Injury?....yes. The important question is have we given credit to the other limbs to becoming a wholly (intentional spelling) well human b...eing? Reviewing the other limbs of yoga...soaking in the one that resonates and exploring it in your practice will steer you to being more whole. Learn all you can...there are so many resources available today. When you feel content with an improvement in that limb, check out another limb and so on. Lately for me, limb of Meditation Yoga, is making great inroads to a happier self. It’s warm outside in the Little Lakes of NY I’d better go seize this meditative opportunity B4 the sun goes down. Less Tribalism and more unity to address less suffering by all citizens. We can never go wrong with that kind of logic. May your yoga practice be disciplined to address Ahimsa. Namaste.

This week Tuesday morning yoga class as usual 8:45AM to 10:15AM. Wednesday and Thursday classes resume next week 11/27/2017. Enjoy Thanksgiving blessings and be a blessing for those around you with pranayama and restorative practices until we meet again. For those who have been needing a time to work with busy day schedules we have returned to Wednesday evenings now 7-8:15PM. Hopefully anyone who has children can return in time to tuck them in or enjoy a spot of tea before a good night’s sleep!
