The #SaveOurStages bill appears to be in the aid package Congress agreed on today. Fingers crossed that it becomes the good news we need for 2021.

Every day we wait for the senate to pass the stimulus package providing aid to independent venues, restaurants and small businesses is another day closer to this reality. Time is running out to #saveourstages. #niva #nyiva

We recently added a new allocated bourbon to our shelf - Michters Small Batch. With the senate now adjourned until November 9, NYIVA has turned its attention to trying to secure aid for music venues and comedy clubs from the state. New York state has received $5 billion in Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF) from March 30 till now. Currently New York independent venues are looking for a mere 1.5% ($75 million) of the state CRF allocation to save New York’s music and comedy clubs in order to stay afloat until a national aid package is passed. Independent ve...nues haven’t received nearly as much aid as they need to stay afloat. Hopefully the CARES act with the addition of Save Our Stages will be passed soon and help protect independent venues from shutting down. #SaveOurStages #NYIVA https://nysmusic.com//nyiva-releases-data-on-the-dire-sta/

443 Q&A You've got questions...we've got answers. Q: How long are you going to keep your patio open? I'm not sure I'm ready to be inside a bar just yet. ... A: In a normal year, we would be preparing to pack up the palatial 443 patio for the season. But, given everything that's happening, we're planning to keep it set up as long as possible so we can take advantage of random nice days. We've done some experimenting, and thanks to our propane heaters we know we can keep people comfortable in temperatures down to the upper 40's, as long as it's not wet or blustery. We're still looking for a cost-effective way to cover the patio so we can handle an occasional rain shower, but for now wet weather means we have to move inside or remain closed. If you're not comfortable being inside just yet, please do not make a reservation. At this point in the season, we have to assume we'll be indoors. If we get lucky and catch an unseasonably mild day, we'll release an additional block of tables - keep an eye on our Facebook page.

So... I was excited to report that we have enough reservations to ensure that the 443 would be be open all 3 days this week. Unfortunately, I just heard from Wednesday’s incidental musical act that they have a member not feeling well. Out of an abundance of caution we are rescheduling - we just can't take any chances. We will be CLOSED on Wednesday this week.
