If you have a 15 year old cat named Ni, please give me a call 716-401-3402
But, look--it's good news! I did a magical compression of the schedule, LOL. If your cat needs JUST a basic grooming (i.e., bath, blow-dry, comb out, nails, ear cleaning, facial, and done)--with no added things such as sani-trim, de-shed, lion cut, nail caps etc., and that's because of time constraints, I have: 2 spots in March (EDIT: gone now) 2 spots in April (EDIT: gone now) 3 spots in May... and 5 spots left in June 716-401-3402 (And here's a little baby Poof Parsons to make your Caturday happy):
I hate to even bring this up in February...GULP...but I feel like I owe you all a heads up. If you want your cat groomed before the 4th of July and don't already have them on the schedule, you should probably call me like...tomorrow. PetSmart has stopped grooming cats for the time being and is referring all of their cat customers to us, which we appreciate, but I have very few spots available before the 4th of July. VERY few. Less than a handful.
Frankie Cherry is doing the kitty rain dance of spring by modeling the gingham picnic bowtie and the Easter bonnet. WHAT A GOOD SPORT! <3
Four year old Lacey is a charming little thing. She came in for the works: nail caps, basic grooming + de-shedding. Her dad let me choose the nail cap color--YAY!--so she got sparkly light green to match her eyes. I included a couple of close-up nail photos here, because she had two things going on I'd like for you all to see. In photo #2, you can see that Lacey's nail was curled and luckily, pushing her paw pad aside rather than cutting into it. This is a good reason to chec...k your kitty's paws even if you have no intentions of clipping the nails yourself. If the nail cuts into the paw pad, there is a high risk of infection. Plus, I can't imagine that it feels good! In photo #3, you can see that Lacey has a nail-like growth off the paw pad itself. This is called a cutaneous horn. They are generally not a problem, but if your cat is prone, it's worth just mentioning them to your vet at a regular visit. Cutaneous horns can be trimmed off like nails, but you have to be *careful* because the base is living tissue, and you don't want to cut into your kitty's paw pad. YEOWCH. Lacey did pretty darn good throughout her spa day until it came to the blow dry portion of the program. That she could not abide. So, because they have to be fully and completely dry before de-shedding, we packed her up and sent her home to finish drying, and she popped back in the next morning for her de-shed, during which she was a perfect little angel. And she left us with a GINORMOUS pile of undercoat. What a sweetie this kitty is!
Hey friends! We've had a huge increase in cancellations due to covid-19 positive diagnoses--which we 100% APPRECIATE. Seriously, thank everyone for not coming in if you have covid, someone in your household has covid, or you've been exposed in *any* way to the virus. I want to assure you, if you have to cancel because of covid, you won't go to the back of the line. How I usually handle it is by moving someone whose appointment is a few weeks down the line into your appointment, and swapping you into theirs. So just...(1) call us, (2) stay home and take care of yourself, and (3) we'll work it out.
I was going through my 2019 photo database looking for a particular image (and wishing I were better at organizing, because TEDIOUS!) when I came across this freakishly cute kitten, Penelope. And I had to share her. Because who DOESN'T want to look at a blue-eyed, palm-sized, adorable kitten-pantser on a cold Saturday night? <3
Cat Nappery Inn guest, Gus, was this morning's breakfast service DJ.
Peacefully re-settled on her papa's lap. <3
Mikimoto's and Baby's little sis, Stella is one year old now! She's a sweet little kitty with an ultra-challenging coat. Not just your standard challenging Persian coat, mind you. This one is EXTRA. In addition to being a big fluffy fluffernutter from Planet Fluffernuttia, Stella also has an extra greasy, almost waxy, undercoat, the likes of which we've only seen once before (and we were never able to fix his, either). Literally nothing cuts through that waxiness. NOTHING. S...he's been this way since she was a tiny kitten, and her coat vexes and befuddles us. It keeps Niner up at night. We've gone so far as to consult other groomers as far away as Australia about it, but haven't had much luck figuring it out or improving it. All we know is, Niner can keep this little baby in the bath for 45 minutes doing a full coat de-grease followed by suds after suds after suds after SUDS, and we still can't fully de-grease her. Which makes her impossible to fully dry. A few grooming sessions ago, we lion cut her, because the combination of her unique coat situation and the bathing and drying attempts just made everything into a sticky, matty mess. The shaving helped. This time around, while she still had that extreme waxiness at the skin level, we were able to work with her much shorter fur insofar as not ending up with a coat full of mats. Stella comes in every four weeks for baths, and we still haven't figured out how to handle her coat and skin. But, we're trying, and we're determined to find a solution.
Angel is a beautiful 9 year old Ragdoll who breezes in every so often to have a few mats removed. She's a really good girl, and it's always great to see her, however briefly! Like many of these fuzzers, she tends to get mats in the chest and armpit region, but they always shave out easily and she's always a cooperative little lady. <3
