New York is again using part of the CARES Act to provide child care for essential workers who meet the requirements, at no cost to the worker!! The CARES Child Care Scholarship will be available as long as there are funds to support it, or until December 31, 2020. Essential workers using a regulated child care provider will receive a scholarship for the cost of care. All licensed and registered providers who are caring for essential workers' children are able to participate... in the CARES Scholarship program. With cold season upon us and still being in the Covid pandemic, I want to share the direct guidelines from the health department: Any child showing any COVID symptoms can not attend daycare. They MUST see a doctor, have a doctors note saying the child does not have COVID, the actual diagnosis & that they can return to daycare. Children only need to have a COVID test if their doctor recommends it. If these procedures are not followed, a child can not attend daycare for 14 days and must be symptom free.
